Tour Overview

A honeymoon safari that is easy to enjoy

Your wedding is done, and now you want time together somewhere you will never forget. This safari gives you that. Tarangire has the elephants and the baobabs, the Serengeti has the big plains and the big cats, and Ngorongoro Crater packs a lot of wildlife into one morning.

We keep the trip simple. You stay two nights in the same Serengeti camp, so you unpack once. The drives are short enough to enjoy, and your guide knows when to talk and when to be quiet. Your guide is English-speaking, friendly, and well-informed, and he is happy to take your photographs.

It is a private safari. It's your vehicle and your guide, so you can stay longer at a sighting or go back to camp early. Tell us it is your honeymoon when you book, and we pass it on to every lodge.

Day-by-Day Itinerary

Your 6-day journey through Tanzania, crafted for unforgettable moments at every stop.

Day 1

Arrival: Champagne and Flowers at the Airport

Dinner, Lunch Arusha, luxury boutique lodge or hotel
Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) β†’ Arusha Your private guide is waiting for you at JRO with a bottle of champagne and a bouquet of flowers. If the airport rules do not allow the champagne, we hold the toast for your lodge instead. Then it is a comfortable drive into Arusha in your own 4x4. We ask your hotel to prepare the room with flowers and a welcome message, if they can. The rest of the day is yours to rest. In the evening you have dinner, and your guide briefs you on the days ahead. Private meeting at JRO, with champagne and flowers Transfer to your luxury lodge or hotel in Arusha Dinner and a relaxed safari briefing πŸ’› Your first toast together in Tanzania.
Day 2

Tarangire: Elephants and Baobabs

Breakfast Β· Lunch Β· Dinner Karatu, luxury lodge in the highlands
After breakfast you drive to Tarangire, about two hours away. This park is known for its elephant herds, the Tarangire River and its giant baobab trees. Your guide drives slowly, tells you what you are looking at, and stops whenever you want a photograph. You have a picnic lunch in an approved spot in the park, then another game drive. In the late afternoon you drive up to Karatu and check in to your lodge in the highlands. Dinner is quiet and unhurried, with a glass of wine if you like. Breakfast, then drive to Tarangire Private game drive Picnic lunch in the park Drive to Karatu, dinner and overnight πŸ’› A sunset photo of the two of you, with the baobabs behind.
Day 3

Over the Highlands into the Serengeti

Breakfast Β· Lunch Β· Dinner Serengeti, luxury tented camp or safari lodge
Karatu β†’ Ngorongoro Conservation Area β†’ Serengeti National Park You drive up through the Ngorongoro Highlands, with views that change from green hills to open grass plains. Then you enter the Serengeti and start game driving. Your guide plans the route around the season and where the animals have been seen. You reach your luxury tented camp or lodge in the evening. After dinner you can listen to the bush and look at the stars, with no city light for miles. Breakfast, then drive via the Ngorongoro Highlands First game drive in the Serengeti Dinner and overnight at camp πŸ’› A quiet evening under the stars, far from everything.
Day 4

A Full Day in the Serengeti

Breakfast Β· Lunch Β· Dinner Serengeti, same camp for a second night
Serengeti National Park This is the day that makes the trip. You have a whole day in the park with your own guide and vehicle, so you can stay with a lion pride, follow a cheetah or stop for photographs for as long as you want. Depending on the season you may see big herds of wildebeest and zebra, and the lions, cheetahs and leopards that follow them. We cannot promise a sighting, but every day gives you something. You come back to camp for sunset. If you would like, we can arrange a romantic dinner or a private table, subject to the camp and any extra charge. Full-day private game drive Picnic lunch in the bush Sunset stop, where permitted Dinner and a second night at the same camp πŸ’› A glass raised together as the sun goes down over the plains.

You have a picnic lunch at an approved site, then climb out and drive to your lodge in the highlands. Dinner is relaxed, and you can ask us in advance for a honeymoon dessert or a romantic dinner setup. Frequently Asked Questions

Is this honeymoon safari private?
Yes. It is just the two of you, with your own 4x4 Land Cruiser with a pop-up roof and your own guide. You can change the start times, stay longer at a sighting or go back to camp early.
Which honeymoon touches are included in the price?
The champagne and flowers welcome and the request for room decoration are part of the plan. Cakes, private dinners, sunset drinks and spa treatments depend on each lodge. Your quote lists every one as included, complimentary or an extra, so there are no surprises.
What standard are the lodges and camps?
Luxury. In Arusha and Karatu you stay in a boutique lodge or hotel in the highlands, in the Serengeti in a luxury tented camp or safari lodge. We choose exact properties for your dates, and we offer an alternative of the same standard if your first choice is full.
When is the best time to go?
The Serengeti is good all year. The herds move with the rains, so we plan the exact area around your dates. Tell us when you are travelling, and we will tell you what to expect.
How early should we book?
As early as you can, especially for June to October and December. We advise at least four to six months ahead, so you get the lodges you want.
