Tour Overview

The key advantage of this itinerary is flexibility. Instead of spending the entire safari following a fixed route, you have two dedicated nights in Northern Serengeti, allowing your guide to adapt the game drives according to the latest location of the wildebeest herds.

The itinerary then continues into Central Serengeti, giving you a second wildlife experience around the Seronera ecosystem before your flight back to Arusha.

Important: The Great Migration is a natural phenomenon, and the exact location of the herds cannot be guaranteed. Our guides use current field information, local knowledge and wildlife movements to maximize your chances of finding the herds during your safari.

Day-by-Day Itinerary

Your 4-day journey through Tanzania, crafted for unforgettable moments at every stop.

Day 1

JRO → Arusha → Kogatende → Northern Serengeti

Lunch & Dinner Northern Serengeti
After breakfast, you will be transferred from your accommodation in Arusha to Arusha Airport for your scheduled domestic flight to Kogatende Airstrip in Northern Serengeti. Upon arrival, your private safari guide will meet you at the airstrip and begin your migration-focused safari. Depending on the location of the herds, you will explore the surrounding plains and river areas, searching for large concentrations of wildebeest and other wildlife following the migration. The afternoon game drive continues as you explore Northern Serengeti, with opportunities to encounter lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, gazelles and other resident wildlife.
Day 2

Full-Day Northern Serengeti | Following the Migration

Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner Northern Serengeti
Today is dedicated entirely to the Great Wildebeest Migration. After breakfast, set out with your private guide for a full day of game viewing. Your guide will use local knowledge and recent sightings to determine the best areas to explore, allowing the day to remain flexible according to the movement of the herds. Northern Serengeti is particularly rewarding for dramatic wildlife encounters, with the possibility of witnessing large wildebeest concentrations, predator activity and, depending on seasonal conditions and herd location, river crossings. Beyond the migration, keep watch for lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants, giraffes, buffalo and abundant plains game. Return to your lodge or camp in the evening after a full day in the wilderness.
Day 3

Northern Serengeti → Central Serengeti | Seronera

Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner Central Serengeti – Seronera
After breakfast, enjoy a final morning game drive in Northern Serengeti before beginning your journey south toward Central Serengeti. Rather than treating the transfer as simply a drive between camps, you will continue game viewing throughout the journey. Your guide will select the route according to wildlife activity and current conditions, giving you further opportunities to encounter the Serengeti's resident wildlife. By afternoon, you arrive in the Seronera area, one of the Serengeti's richest wildlife regions. Enjoy an afternoon game drive through the valley and surrounding plains, where lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants, hippos and large herds of plains game are frequently encountered.
Day 4

Central Serengeti → Seronera Airstrip → Arusha

Breakfast & Lunch
Wake early for your final morning in the Serengeti. After breakfast, enjoy a final game drive around the Seronera area, taking advantage of the cooler morning hours when wildlife is often particularly active. Later, proceed to Seronera Airstrip for your scheduled domestic flight to Arusha. Upon arrival in Arusha, you will be met and transferred to your accommodation or onward connection, marking the end of your private Great Migration safari.
