Tour Overview

If you ask us the best time to visit the Serengeti, the calving season in Ndutu is always high on the list. There is an energy in the air during these months that’s hard to put into words—hundreds of thousands of animals covering the plains, baby wildebeests finding their legs, and big cats lurking in the shade.

Over 6 well-paced days, we’ll guide you through Tanzania’s absolute best wildlife spots. You’ll spend time tracking the herds in Ndutu, exploring the rocky kopjes of Seronera, marveling at the giant elephants in Tarangire, and searching for rare black rhinos inside the Ngorongoro Crater. You'll travel in a private vehicle with a guide who truly knows the land, giving you the freedom to set your own pace and soak in every single moment.

Day-by-Day Itinerary

Your 6-day journey through Tanzania, crafted for unforgettable moments at every stop.

Day 1

Welcome to Tanzania – JRO

Dinner Budget / Mid-Range / Luxury
Upon your arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), an Explore Jambo Maasai safari representative will warmly greet you. Following a brief orientation, you will be transferred to your luxury hotel in Arusha to unwind, settle in, and prepare for the adventure ahead.
Day 2

Arusha to Tarangire National Park

Lunch · Dinner Budget / Mid-Range / Luxury
After breakfast at your hotel, your guide collects you and you set off towards Tarangire — a park celebrated for the largest elephant population in East Africa. Enter through the main gate and begin an afternoon game drive winding through the ancient baobab forests along the Tarangire River. Elephants congregate here in extraordinary numbers during the dry season, but even now the concentration is remarkable. Watch for tree-climbing lions, large packs of mongoose, and hundreds of bird species. Arrive at camp before sunset, settle in, and let the sounds of the bush lull you to sleep.
Day 3

Tarangire to Ndutu (Southern Serengeti)

Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner Budget / Mid-Range / Luxury
Following breakfast, journey through the scenic Ngorongoro Conservation Area into the Ndutu region. Arrive in time for an afternoon game drive across the fertile short-grass plains where vast herds of wildebeests and zebras gather. Thousands of calves arrive daily during this period, creating unmatched opportunities to observe intimate animal behavior and intense hunting action. Bonus: Ndutu permits off-road driving, allowing you to get closer to the action for exceptional photography
Day 4

Full-Day Ndutu Safari Experience

Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner Budget / Mid-Range / Luxury
Dedicate the entire day to tracking the migration across the Ndutu ecosystem. With off-road driving capabilities, your guide will take you deep into the action to spot cheetahs scanning the horizon, lion prides on the hunt, and elusive species like bat-eared foxes and servals. Enjoy a scenic bush lunch amidst the wild before continuing your afternoon game drive. Return to camp in the evening for dinner under a star-filled African sky.
Day 5

Ndutu to Central Serengeti (Seronera)

Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner Budget / Mid-Range / Luxury
Begin with an early morning game drive before heading into the heart of Central Serengeti (Seronera Valley). Renowned for its year-round resident wildlife, Seronera offers exceptional predator sightings. Explore granite kopjes (rock formations) favored by lions, acacia trees frequented by leopards, and open savannas home to giraffes, elephants, and hippos.
Day 6

Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha / Departure

Breakfast & Lunch
Depart early for the Ngorongoro Crater and descend 600 meters into the world’s largest intact, unfilled volcanic caldera. This natural sanctuary hosts over 25,000 large mammals, offering your best opportunity to spot the endangered Black Rhino alongside lions, elephants, hippos, and flamingo-lined soda lakes. After a picturesque picnic lunch by the hippo pool, ascend the crater wall and return to Arusha or transfer directly to Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) for your onward flight.
