Tour Overview

6-Day Tanzania Safari

November and May are the quiet months on either side of the main safari season. The short rains in November and the end of the long rains in May turn the parks green, camp rates fall, and you share sightings with far fewer vehicles. The roads and camps stay open, and the 4x4 handles the conditions.

This is the compact version of the northern circuit. You land in Arusha, spend a full day in Tarangire, then two nights in the central Serengeti with a full day on the plains, a night on the Ngorongoro highlands, and a final morning on the crater floor before the drive back to Arusha.

It is a private safari. It's your group, your vehicle, and your guide, so we can stay longer at a sighting and adjust the day to what you want to see.

Highlights

Day-by-Day Itinerary

Your 6-day journey through Tanzania, crafted for unforgettable moments at every stop.

Day 1

Arrival and Transfer to Arusha

Breakfast Mid-Range hotel in Arusha (name to be confirmed)
Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) → Arusha Your driver-guide meets you when you come out of the arrivals hall at Kilimanjaro and drives you into Arusha. The town sits at the foot of Mount Meru, and it is where nearly every northern safari starts. On a clear day you can see Kilimanjaro away to the north-east. You spend the first night at your Arusha hotel, with time to rest and ask your guide anything about the days ahead. Airport meeting by your driver-guide Transfer to your Arusha hotel Rest and a short briefing
Day 2

Arusha to Tarangire National Park

Breakfast-Lunch-Dinner at a camp near the park - Mid-Range Campsitr
Arusha → Tarangire National Park You leave Arusha after breakfast and spend a full day in Tarangire. It is the park to visit for elephants, and its giant baobab trees make every sighting look like a postcard. In the low season you share it with few other vehicles. Your guide sets up a hot lunch inside the park, and you game drive until late afternoon. You sleep at a camp near the park. Breakfast, then drive to Tarangire Full-day game drive Hot lunch in the park Overnight at a camp near the park
Day 3

Tarangire to the Central Serengeti

Breakfast · Lunch · Dinner Central Serengeti Mid Range tented camp
Today you drive to the Serengeti. The road climbs out of the Rift Valley, crosses the highlands of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and drops onto the plains. We stop for lunch on the way, and start game driving as soon as we enter the park. You head for the Seronera area in the central Serengeti, where you spend the next two nights. Breakfast, then drive via the Ngorongoro Conservation Area Lunch on the way Game drive into Central Serengeti Dinner and overnight at camp
Day 4

Full Day in the Central Serengeti

Breakfast · Lunch · Dinner Central Serengeti Mid Range tented camp
Central Serengeti (Seronera plains) A whole day for the Serengeti. You set out after breakfast with your guide and cover as much ground as you like, with a picnic lunch in the bush. Seronera is known for its lions and leopards, and cheetahs hunt the open plains nearby. In the low season the herds are spread out and the green grass hides some animals, but there are far fewer vehicles at a sighting. Your guide can wait with a pride of lions for as long as you want. Full-day game drive Picnic lunch in the bush Optional dawn balloon safari (extra cost) Dinner and overnight at camp
Day 5

Serengeti to the Ngorongoro Highlands

Breakfast · Lunch · Dinner Ngorongoro highlands tented Camp / Lodge
Central Serengeti → Ngorongoro Conservation Area After breakfast you leave the Serengeti and drive up to the Ngorongoro highlands, with game viewing on the way. If you are interested, we can stop at Olduvai Gorge and its small museum, where early human remains were found. Tell us before the trip if you want this. You reach your camp on the highlands in the afternoon, and rest before the crater tomorrow. Breakfast and a last Serengeti game drive Optional stop at Olduvai Gorge Drive up to the Ngorongoro highlands Dinner and overnight at camp
Day 6

Ngorongoro Crater and Back to Arusha

Breakfast · Lunch End of safari in Arusha
Ngorongoro Crater → Arusha You go down the crater wall after an early breakfast, about 600 metres to the floor, and spend the morning on a game drive. The crater is a small area packed with wildlife: lions, elephants, buffalo, hippos, hyenas, and a chance of black rhino. You have lunch by the lake. After lunch we climb out and drive to Arusha, arriving in the late afternoon. If you want a room for the last night in Arusha, we can book one on request.
