Walking & Boat Safaris

Get out of the vehicle — experience the African bush on foot or by boat for intimate, immersive wildlife encounters.

Walking and boat safaris offer a fundamentally different perspective on the African bush. On foot, every sense sharpens — the snap of a twig, the scent of elephant, the track in the dust. On water, you glide silently past hippos, crocodiles, and waterbirds at eye level.

Walking safaris are available in Nyerere, Ruaha, Arusha National Park, and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Boat safaris operate on the Rufiji River in Nyerere and the Momela Lakes in Arusha. These experiences are exclusively available in Tanzania's less-visited parks — another reason to go beyond the Serengeti.
